The 2011 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre, LA saw a bevy of stars contending not only for the Emmy Awards but also our Worst Dressed Award! So, let us take a quick look at the winners of the Worst Dressed at 2011 Emmy Awards.
In no particular order, they are:
Olivia Munn
She Wore: A jade green Carolina Herrera trail gown
She Went Wrong With: The shape of the gown! The bust part of the gown did nothing for her except for making her look shapeless.
Paz de la Huerta
She Wore: A peachish pink off shoulder slit gown
She Went Wrong With: Her Zombie lifeless look! I mean what’s with the makeup – it is totally wrong for the red carpet! There is a time and place for everything, including zombie make up – I mean Halloween is just around the corner and this look could have been reserved for then.
Rachael Harris
She Wore: A black Nicole Miller off shoulder gown
She Went Wrong With: The shape of her glasses. We appreciate the fact that she is one of the gutsy “in your face” women and doesn’t shirk away from wearing glasses in an industry where the majority of people are plastic, however she could have chosen a frame that was a little less harsh, because it does not complement the gown or the red carpet.
Rachael Taylor
She Wore: A sparkling pink Armani off shoulder gown
She Went Wrong With: The shapeless gown itself! Well, as a standalone it is a pretty outfit but on Rachael it is doing nothing apart from making her look absolutely curve-less.
Taraji P. Henson
She Wore: A sparkling Blumarine gown with spaghetti straps
She Went Wrong With: Looking too plain. Even a sparkling gown failed to make her look glamorous. The overall effect was too simple for the Emmy Red Carpet.
Kerry Washington
She Wore: A red sequined Zuhair Murad off shoulder gown
She Went Wrong With: The overdose of red. She could have either picked up a different clutch or another lip color, instead of doing a red overkill.
Dianna Agron
She Wore: A blue Roksanda Ilincic satin gown with a trail
She Went Wrong With: The crease effect! Yes, it is difficult to avoid creases on a satin dress, but then again this is a real formal event so one should consider such matters beforehand, and choose an outfit that does not give in to creasing.
Julianna Margulies
She Wore: A white Armani Prive off shoulder gown
She Went Wrong With: The upper part of the dress. The huge crystals didn’t really do anything except for making the dress look a tad too futuristic. It had a UFO effect going on for it!
Michelle Dockery
She Wore: A full sleeved plum colored gown
She Went Wrong With: The awkwardly placed triangular cut out on the bust area of her dress. It, well, looked kind of odd.
Gwyneth Paltrow
She Wore: Emilio Pucci Skirt Blouse
She Went Wrong With: Everything! The bare midriff is more suited for something like the MTV Movie Awards, but certainly not the Emmy. Moreover, the shape, pattern and design of the outfit are in themselves very, err…confusing.
