The celebrity stylists have all been in panic and working too hard for this day, for they were to put their best foot forward and have their celebs loaded with oodles of compliments and flattery.
The Golden Globes Award show was held on January 15th, 2012 at Beverly hills, Los Angeles. The 69th Golden globes show was marked by a colorama of dresses and gowns with every silhouette being experimented and exploited to its best and worst potentials. While some got the red carpet gleaming with joy, the others just managed its rags overlooking their monotonous or clichéd dressing style.
Some pretty looking ones, who tried hard enough still got the tag of the worst dressed and some got laid-back and the simplicity put them an incomplete look-book.

What she wore: Naeem Khan gown and custom YSL crystal pink pumps
Certainly tried to pout and pose more, as one of the early visitors at the show but failed at her fashion sense. Though the cut and shape of the dress could be pulled off well at her age, the black print on the white base added a casual zing to her look. The red hair and the studded bracelets emphasised her rock chic look, but the hot pink shoes totally took away from it. A total mismatch of shades and looks, not cool!

What she wore: Customised Lanvin dress
What was wrong: A white beauty, put on herself a fuchsia pink strapless dress too bold. It made her frame appear shapeless, hid her curves and the pink camouflaged with the red of the floor.

What she wore: Marchesa Spring 2012 collection gown
The first one to be put in the jail, when the fashion police comes for a shout. The grey”dynasty” gown gave her look, a feeling of some reptile creeping on to her body. The detailing on the top unbalanced the fish shaped bottom sweeping on the floor. It looked more of a performance costume than a red carpet one-piece.

What she wore: A tiered Marc Jacobs gown
Where she went wrong: Peet might have made the right decision choosing white for elegance, but her tiered dress ended up looking like a fancy curtain worn on one-shoulder. The sheer fabric was certainly not for the occasion.

What she wore: A Temperly London gown
A single-shoulder gown is a style suiting just few, and it surely din’t decide to outshine on Busy Philip’s figure. The gown looks like a piece of white fabric just pulled on, making the figure feel like a straight line hiding the curves behind. Even the flapper fringe on the top seems disinterested? Why?

What she wore: A Naeem Khan gown
A long-sleeved all over fitted gown with a texture, which instead of accentuating her curves made her look more dull, straight-line shaped and uncanny. A little diamond shape peep on the back looked interesting, but could not undo the fashion blunder she made.

What she wore: Grey-silver Vera Wang silk racerback bias gown with Tiffany & Co. jewellery
Grey satin long gown, with a tweaked collar and a play of seams. A complete piece of solid coloured fabric, with no element of mystery or attraction. A dull roleplay of metres of fabric, sewn together being called a dress. An absolute no-no for any occasion, that too this one so glam.

What she wore: A purple dress
We would be called stupid, if we call this piece a designer one. This frumpy solid shiny purple dress looks absolutely outdated and the slit and the one-shoulder also fail to show their magic. Too simple, this one makes her look more fuller and squeezes her face small. The shoes, mismatched bag and hair colour add to the misery.

The cape like white top of the gown and the lower streamline shaped black part of the gown, brought out the simplicity but was incomplete and inefficient for the red carpet. The hairstyle looked like an extension of the gown and hid one side her face, just like the one-shoulder on her gown. The black and white, could be carried with some oomph only if it had any elements more than just oodles of fabric.

What she wore: Mischka dress
Though stylish at her age, Helen Mirren overdoes the show of cleavage in this midnight blue gown. The gown had everything from a narrow waist line with a Swarovski detailing to a long V-neck and full sleeves. Too much detail, makes her go up on the list of the worst dressed.

What she wore: A black and silver lacy gown
Seen at the big night, in a tacky black and silver gown with a turtle neck and full-sleeve detail. We surely were excited to see her, but the expectations went down the drain seeing her covered in lace from top to bottom. The bottom overdose of lace, was just beyond us to understand.

What she wore: Giles Deacon dress and Casadei shoes
While some people chose contrasting and even clashing colours, Diana chose a red gown for the red carpet. This dress had too many holes to count and lost the essence of laser cut-work and lace, with excessive details. The swan detailing could have stood out, if it was emphasised on and a little less wide-spread. It even had layers and sheen and looked like a maze of red cheese.

What she wore: A shiny coat over a black-long dress
A double shaded shiny long coat with black loose dress and pointy heels. She looked like an ancient statue going to sing the oprah, following the colour theme of black and silver all over.

What she wore: Zac Posen cream corseted gown
The creamy white lost its charm with the layers of tulle which formed the netted long tail of this streamlined gown. The bangles were another spoil sport. The figure hugging white made it look like a compromise, worn incomplete due to shortage of time.
