The French weather may have been playing spoilsport with the evening’s festivities, but it did nothing to dampen Shakira’s sensational look. The singer looked even more stunning than she usually does in a golden bandeau dress as she arrived at Palais des Festivales et des Congres in Cannes, France for the NRJ Music Awards on January 28 where she picked up the prestigious NRJ Award of Honor for a career spanning over 2 decades.
But back to her show-stopper of a dress. The strapless, low-cut mini dress fit tightly on her toned frame, emphasized at the waist by a thick golden ribboned bow. The dress itself is delectable with multi-colored semi-precious stones embellishing the front. The low-cut neckline is a little uncharacteristic for this generally-modest dresser. But we’re glad she took the plunge (pun intended) to mark an evening that highlights her success as a singer and performer. The 30-year-old completed the ensemble with a sparkly golden clutch and sparkly strappy heels.
She put her hair up in an elegant do, with her front flicks pulled out and casually set. Her makeup was a pick from the red palette – soft red lips and blush. Shakira’s glitzy look has us totally floored.
Get The Look
Shakira has this red carpet look right from top to bottom. If you want to tone it down a bit, wear strappy heels in a muted shade. Avoid boots as they would not go well with the delicate feel of a jeweled dress. Another thing to remember about wearing an embellished dress like this is to avoid over-accessorizing. Do away with jewelry altogether. If you can’t, then make sure your chain, ring or bracelet are thin, understated and do not clash with the dress.
