While most of the beauties were wearing black for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 29, actress Zoe Saldana went with white. It’s refreshing to see someone deviate from the norm and try something new on the red carpet. And the fashion-forward Avatar star is no stranger to going against the grain. She looked ethereal in a white Givenchy gown as she arrived at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California for the event.
The full-length number had a sheer overlay with sleeves till the elbows. This overlay was accentuated with silver trimmings on the neck, sleeve, and waist. The hemline of the dress also had silver trimmings. The textured skirt had a split down the side, allowing us a view of the beige heels she wore under this floor-sweeping outfit. Her only accessories were a silver ring and diamond drop earrings.
Zoe went with an understated but elegant hairstyle. The hair was loosely pulled back into a low bun. Her makeup too was subtle with just a dash of soft red lipstick and a little eye makeup.
Get The Look
This dress can appear over-formal to some. But you can see how Zoe’s hairstyle works wonders in not just tying this look together but also in giving it more of an approachable aura. At the same time, it does not take away from the elegance at all.
Opt for simple, relaxed updos like this when there are dresses which have a lot of work on them that needs to be highlighted. Leaving your hair down can sometimes interfere with the view of the dress.
