Singer Fergie’s outfit for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards was a strong contender for memorable red carpet gowns. She definitely made heads turn as she arrived at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on February 12 in an intricate lace gown by eccentric French designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
The 36-year-old has one of the most desirable bodies in the music industry which she has never been shy about showing off. Her orange lace dress allowed her to do more than just show off though. It put her black bra and high-waisted black panties on full display on the Grammy red carpet – an admirable and much-needed trait when you have to fight for attention from the shutterbugs at such a celeb-saturated do.
The style of the gown brought to mind the mermaid dress which has been so popular on the red carpet this season. The skirt went in at the knees and flared slightly outwards on its way to the floor.
She accessorized with a red and silver clutch purse and jewelry by Neil Lane – gold hoop earrings, a gold cuff bracelet and a large gold ring.
Fergie went with a simple hairdo so as not to overwhelm the dress. Her blonde hair was liberally gelled and slicked back in her trademark ponytail. A light swipe of mascara with otherwise natural makeup gave her the perfect finishing touch.
