Sonam Kapoor once again proves why she remains one of Bollywood’s most distinctive fashion personalities. For her latest traditional look, the actor chose a richly detailed creation by Gaurang, bringing together heritage textiles, intricate artwork and deep jewel toned colours.
A Lehenga Inspired by Ajanta and Ellora
The lehenga reimagined the timeless artistry of Ajanta and Ellora through intricate Kalamkari recreations. Its voluminous skirt featured richly detailed scenes inspired by the iconic paintings, with earthy shades of rust, ochre, brown and olive bringing the ancient stories to life.
The artwork was framed by a deep green border and subtle embellishments, giving the traditional silhouette a museum like quality. Each panel felt almost like a painted fragment from India’s artistic heritage, transformed into a wearable Gaurang creation and worn beautifully by Sonam Kapoor.
The Embellished Dupatta
The dupatta was further enhanced with intricate green embroidered motifs, including botanical and floral patterns placed across the drape. These motifs beautifully echoed the embroidered neckline and complemented the earthy artwork on the lehenga.
Finished with a defined green border, the dupatta balanced delicacy with richness. Its transparency allowed the detailed outfit beneath to remain visible, while the gold dots and embroidered motifs gave the entire ensemble a refined festive glow.
Jewellery with a Vintage Soul
Sonam kept the jewellery traditional but carefully edited. She wore ornate gold jhumkas with colourful detailing and a statement floral necklace in green and gold.
The necklace echoed the embroidery on the dupatta, while the jhumkas added a familiar Indian festive elegance. A statement ring completed the styling without distracting from the elaborate outfit.

Hairstylist Komal Vora kept the hair sleek and pulled back into a neat bun. The clean hairstyle was an effective choice, allowing the earrings, necklace and embroidered neckline to remain visible.
