The Barbadian pop singer Rihanna was left in overwhelming shock and grief when she got to know that young Shannon Tavarez has lost her battle with leukemia. She tweeted that death came way too soon for the young star and asked followers to keep her family in prayers. Rihanna had requested fans for bone marrow match when she got know about Tavarez’s condition.
Shannon who was 11 years old, played young Nala in musical The Lion King. Doctors were unable to find a bone marrow match for her so she underwent umbilical cord blood transplant in August. But at last she lost the battle against the fatal disease this Monday.
