Actress Lea Michelle made heads turn as she arrived for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards at the Nokia Theater LA Live in Los Angeles, California on January 11.
The Glee star wore a white, calf-length gown by Marchesa made entirely of loose thread draping with hanging cap sleeves. This was a very interesting little number, and not that easy to pull off. But the young star carried it off with effortless grace. She accessorized the outfit with peep-toe metallic heels from Jimmy Choos and a pair of dangle earrings from Lorraine Schwartz.
Lea wore natural makeup, except for a burst of bold pink on her lips. Her brown tresses were straightened and swept to the side over one shoulder so as not to hinder the view of her flawless back.
Love it or hate it, you have to admit that Lea’s outfit is striking and eye-catching. You can’t help but keep on looking at her. The pink lipstick is an inspired choice, an unexpected little surprise that ties her look together.
Get The Look
If you are going to be wearing a dress like Lea’s which makes a style statement, then you have to really think about your makeup. Go too natural and you risk letting the dress wear you rather than the other way around. On the other hand, go too heavy and you may look too busy. The key is to find a middle ground which is dramatic and poignant, but not so much so that it steals the show from the outfit. Lea’s pink lipstick does just that. If you aren’t too fond of pink, you could try orange, or maybe the blood red/burgundy lips which we featured a couple of days ago.
