The finale brought together 111 contestants from around the world for Miss World’s 75th anniversary celebration, but it was Joheirry who ultimately took the top title after advancing through the competition’s new elimination format and final question and answer round.

Joheirry Mola Is Miss World 2026

Miss World 2026 Winner: Joheirry Mola of Dominican Republic Wins the Crown

Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026, giving her country one of its biggest moments on the international pageant stage.

She entered the competition with strong momentum after winning the Top Model title for the Americas and Caribbean region, which secured her an early place in the Top 40. From there, she continued through the Top 20, Top 12 and Top 6 before taking the crown.

Her win feels particularly significant because she was not only strong on stage, but also came into the competition with a clear social impact story and professional background.

Who Is Joheirry Mola?

Joheirry is from the Dominican Republic and holds a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Her professional life is unusually varied. She works as a Literature and Social Studies teacher, a professional model and a news correspondent. She is also the founder and president of Voices of Tomorrow, an initiative focused on expanding access to English education and opportunities for children and young people in vulnerable communities.

She has also worked as a correspondent for Univision New York’s Ventana a Quisqueya, covering Dominican culture and community stories, giving her plenty of experience speaking and communicating in front of an audience.

That combination of education, communication and social work fits closely with the Miss World organisation’s long standing emphasis on Beauty With a Purpose.

The Miss World 2026 Runner Ups

The final results placed Elisabeth Reynés of Spain as first runner up, while Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia finished as second runner up.

South Africa’s Romanda Hombir and Vietnam’s Lê Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc also finished among the leading finalists, with both making it deep into the final stages of the competition.

The final six represented the different routes into the last round, including continental regions, Beauty With a Purpose and People’s Choice, making the final stage more varied than in previous editions.

A New Format Made the Finale More Competitive

Miss World 2026 introduced a clearer pathway to the crown.

The competition began with the Top 40, followed by the Top 20, Top 12 and Top 6. Contestants could secure places through regional performance, challenge events, Beauty With a Purpose and public voting.

The Top 6 then faced the final question and answer round, which tested communication, composure and the ability to respond under pressure before the judges selected the winner and two runner ups.

That structure made the finale feel more like a gradual competition rather than one dramatic cut at the end.

Joheirry Had Already Been One to Watch

Joheirry’s Top Model win earlier in the competition had already made her one of the names to watch.

Her strength on the runway gave her an early advantage, but what made her journey more complete was the balance between modelling, communication and social impact.

Her project, Voices of Tomorrow, reflects her own experience as an educator and focuses on helping young people access opportunities that can improve their future. Her personal motto centres on giving others the opportunities that once helped you grow, which fits naturally with the Miss World platform.

That made her victory feel like more than a strong finale performance.

A Big Win for the Dominican Republic

Joheirry’s crown is also a major pageant moment for the Dominican Republic.

The country has had strong representatives at international competitions over the years, but a Miss World title carries a different kind of prestige because of the organisation’s long history and global reach.

Joheirry now becomes the face of Miss World for the coming year and will be expected to take part in international events, charity work and Beauty With a Purpose initiatives around the world.

Her year as Miss World will also keep the Dominican Republic firmly in the global pageant spotlight.

India’s Nikita Porwal Ends Her Journey in the Top 40

India was represented by Nikita Porwal, who had drawn plenty of attention throughout the competition for her fashion choices and stage presence.

Nikita reached the Top 40 but did not advance into the Top 20. Her journey still attracted strong support from Indian pageant fans, particularly around her finale gown and cultural presentations.

India’s last Miss World victory came with Manushi Chhillar in 2017.

A Finale to Remember in Vietnam

The 2026 edition was especially significant because it marked 75 years of Miss World and brought the global competition to Vietnam.

The grand finale took place at April 2 Square in Nha Trang, with contestants progressing through the final rounds before Joheirry was announced as the new winner.

For Joheirry, the night marked the end of a long competition journey and the beginning of an entirely new one.

She arrived in Vietnam as Miss World Dominican Republic.

She leaves as Miss World 2026.

Glamcheck Take

Joheirry Mola’s victory feels well rounded.

She had the runway presence, the communication skills and a social project rooted in her real life work as a teacher.

For the Dominican Republic, it is a huge pageant moment.

And for Joheirry, the crown now gives her a much bigger platform for the work she was already doing before Miss World.
