Women of substance recently gathered at the Banqueting House in London for the International UK gala 2011 with the purpose of raising funds for women survivors of the war to rebuild their lives.
A great occasion calls for some great dressing too and the women present there surely did not disappoint.
As if almost by coincidence, three beautiful ladies donned lace dresses to the event and that surely means that lace dresses is a trend to watch out for these summers.
White lace dress : Tess Daly
Tess Daly wore a white straight line dress, reaching her mid thighs. The half sleeves of the dress in lace were unlined giving a very feminine touch to the dress and Tess. Tess paired the white dress with black heels and carried a black clutch. She wore her brownish blonde hair in a ponytail and her makeup was simple – just some gloss on the lips and colour on her eyes. Tess looked great in her dress which shouted chic business.
Ecru lace dress : Noelle Reno
Noelle Reno wore a tight fitting ecru lace dress. The dress was mid thigh length and had full sleeves. The main body of the dress was lined in nude colour fabric, while the sleeves were unlined. The nude lining on the main dress gave the impression of sheerness. Noelle teamed the look with a purple purse and ankle high white laser cut work peep toe heels. Noelle was wearing a bright red lipstick and had left her blonde hair parted in the middle and open. Personally, I would reserve this look for a fun filled party with friends rather than wearing it to a noble fund raising event.
Black lace dress : Jacquetta Wheeler
Jacquetta Wheeler too sported a thigh high straight lace dress, but in colour black. Perfect wear for a great night, I loved the delicate pattern of the lace, the boat neck and of course the unlined short sleeves. What worked in Jacquetta’s favour was also perhaps the way she accessories the simple yet elegant dress. She wore golden peep toe sandals, showing off the well manicured toes and a black clutch. Her pulled back hair style, simple makeup and the cute little white fur jacket all added to her business like demeanour.
