The leading ladies of Bollywood were present and accounted for, high fashion and all, at the much-looked-forward-to South Africa India Film and Television Awards (SAIFTA) in Durban, South Africa on September 6, 2013.
Dia Mirza picked a luxurious winner from Manish Malhotra’s Couture 2013 Collection. She sported a maroon anarkali outfit that was styled to look like a lehenga-choli. It had rich gold embroidery on the hips which extended down both sides of the skirt.

On the runway, this outfit had had puffy full sleeves which were not bad, per se, but we’re really glad that Dia chose the more contemporary fitted look for the overseas event as it cut a much cleaner picture on stage. Since she was hosting the evening and spent most of her time there, it made sense to not have blowsy sleeves flapping around. She rounded off the look with a simple updo and gold dangle earrings.
Divya Dutta kept things simple in a black evening gown. It had a low-cut neckline, sheer dotted sleeves, and a skirt that flared slightly from the waist all the way down to the red carpet.

Red lips, an updo and accents of bling completed her look. The usually traditional dresser must have wanted to shake herself out of her patent ethnic looks with this ensemble.
Madhuri Dixit Nene poured her curves into a grey floral lace evening gown by Dolce & Gabbana. Since the lace is already visually abundant, the dancing queen styled her look simply with red lips and hair held back at the crown but otherwise left loose.

Diamond stud earrings were her only accessories. This dhak dhak girl has definitely still got it. We can hear the appreciative wolf-whistles in Durban all the way over here.
Priyanka Chopra was another celeb who opted for Manish Malhotra, and how! She looked stunning in a sheer beige sari embellished with ornate silver embroidery and delicate sequin work. The petticoat was a striking midnight blue, as was her low-cut, sleeveless velvet blouse.

The play of bold and neutral colors was magnificent. She kept her hair and makeup simple but did go with statement earrings and a couple of finger rings to add more glamour.
