Sunny Deol’s Hanuman Could Be Ramayana Part 1’s Biggest Surprise

The makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana may be saving one of the film’s biggest moments for the very end. According to recent reports, Sunny Deol’s first major appearance as Lord Hanuman could come only in the closing moments of Ramayana Part 1, turning his entry into the big bridge between the first film and the sequel.

It is a smart idea because Sunny’s casting has already created huge curiosity. The makers have confirmed that he is playing Hanuman, but they have shown very little of him so far. If the plan is to hold back his full reveal until the end, that secrecy could work strongly in the film’s favour.

Why Save Hanuman for the End?

Hanuman becomes one of the most important figures in Ram’s journey, especially as the story moves closer to the battle against Ravana. So introducing him right at the end of Part 1 could feel less like a cameo and more like a turning point.

Reports suggest that Sunny Deol’s reveal could come in the final scene, or possibly as a post credit moment. Either way, the idea seems to be to give audiences one strong image to carry with them after the film ends.

That also gives Part 2 an immediate sense of momentum. Instead of ending quietly, the film could close with the arrival of a character who will play a major role in what comes next.

The ‘Baahubali’ Comparison

There is already talk that the makers want to create the kind of excitement that followed the first Baahubali film.

The comparison is not exact, because Baahubali ended with a mystery, while Ramayana Part 1 may end with a reveal. But the intention seems similar. The goal is to leave the audience with one big moment that keeps people talking long after the credits roll.

And in this case, Sunny Deol as Hanuman is probably one of the strongest surprises the makers can hold back.

The Secrecy Is Adding to the Hype

Sunny’s Hanuman look has not been completely unseen. A limited glimpse was reportedly shown earlier at an industry presentation, but for the wider audience, the character has still been kept mostly under wraps.

That restraint is interesting because big films often reveal too much too early through teasers, posters and promotional material. Ramayana seems to be doing the opposite with Hanuman.

The less people see now, the bigger the first proper reveal could feel on screen.

A Cast Built for a Huge Two Part Story

The scale of the project is already clear from the cast.

Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash plays Ravana and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman.Ravi Dubey appears as Lakshman, while the film also includes Arun Govil and Lara Dutta in key roles.

The first part is expected to cover the earlier stretch of Ram’s journey, while the second film will move deeper into the conflict with Ravana. That makes Hanuman’s arrival near the end of Part 1 feel like a very natural point to shift the story into a bigger, more action heavy chapter.

The Film Is Already Building Buzz

The film has also been getting attention for its visual scale. Footage shown at industry events has reportedly impressed exhibitors, especially for its creature work and VFX.

With A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer attached to the music, the project is clearly being built as a large scale cinematic event rather than just another star driven release.

That is probably why the makers are being careful about how and when they reveal their biggest characters.

Will Sunny Deol Really Appear Only at the End?

For now, the Hanuman ending is still based on reports and has not been officially confirmed by the makers.

But if it turns out to be true, it could be one of the film’s strongest decisions.

Holding Sunny Deol back until the final moments would make his entry feel bigger, give Part 1 a memorable finish and instantly set up anticipation for Part 2.

For a two part film as ambitious as Ramayana, that kind of ending could be exactly what it needs.
