Stefano Canturi creates a rare and most expensive – every girl’s fantasy toy “A Barbie doll” with only one lucky customer able to take her back home.
Barbie® by Stefano Canturi valued at AU$600,000 will be auctioned for charity on 20th of October 2010 at Christie’s prestigious fine jewelery sale in ‘New York’. The rare Barbie wears a beautiful necklace and a ring made from a rare 1.00ct pink Argyle diamond and 3.00cts of white diamonds in the signature “Cubism™” design style of the designer.
Pink diamonds are the rarest ones. The 1ct Square cut pink diamond, with purplish pink hue, is a rare and unique collector’s item that makes the doll more expensive.
After being provided with the brief of the doll, it took 7 days for Stefano Canturi in perfecting the design and further 4 weeks to create the historic doll.
Apart from creating a beautiful historic doll, Stefano also wanted it to have a meaningful contribution to the women. He therefore, partnered with “The Breast Cancer Research Foundation” with proceeds to benefit the non-profit organization.
‘Barbie’ by Stefano Canturi’ was first time unveiled in the US at ‘Fashion Night Out’ on 11th of September.
