The official kickoff party for Z100’s Jingle Ball 2011 held at Aeropostale Times Square in New york City on October 21st saw Demi Lovato in a new persona.
The Sonny with a Chance star has always had a clean look with natural makeup and she does not usually dare to change it. But perhaps the 19 year old wants to break away from the Disney image and come into her own. As you can see, her makeup is more dramatic than she has ever worn it with a dark red shade that makes her lips fuller and very noticeable.
Also darker than usual is her cat eye makeup – making her look decidedly sexy and a far cry from her Disney days. The nose stud is an interesting touch – minimalistic but adding a touch of sparkle.
Demi’s hairdo contributes to the seductive aura. She left it loose with a side parting, her hair coming down in dreamy curls and waves, her side-swept bangs occasionally falling over her eyes and giving her a come-hither look.
Get the Look
Red lipstick can make you look seductive, naughty, sexy, provocative or mysterious or all of the above! But it does not look good on everyone and it does not go well with every outfit so think twice before choosing this lip shade, which was actually considered scandalous once.
Make sure your teeth are whitened if you plan on wearing red or any strong-colored lipstick. Few things look as tacky and disgusting as yellow or stained teeth with red lipstick. In fact, keep those pearly whites clean all the time if you are serious about making an impression.
Use a lip liner to carefully line your lips before applying the lipstick. This will give your lips a more defined shape and prevent the lipstick from bleeding or feathering. If wearing red lipstick, keep the rest of your makeup to a minimum otherwise it will be too much. Some dark mascara and eye liner is about as far as you should go. Anything more and you’ll look like a tramp.
Avoid red lipstick during the day if possible. And try not to wear it to work either. Reserve this shade for those occasions when you don’t mind that the people around you think you are heart-breathtakingly hot.
