With the bevy of beauties attending the December 5 Los Angeles premiere of New Year’s Eve at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California, you’d be hard-pressed to look at each one individually. But some of the celebs present had no trouble at all getting noticed. Hilary Swank was one of the stunners who was definitely one of the best-dressed at the event in a sparkly number by Elie Saab, and not at all hard to spot.
The knee-length sapphire dress that she wore was generously studded with sequins. It had sheer sleeves that showed off her toned arms, and a blue flowered belt to accessorize the dress.
The 37-year-old went on to complement her look with a shiny black clutch, gold dangle earrings, and peep-toe heels with a fire pattern that matched the dress. Her side-swept hair and natural makeup completed her magnificent ensemble for the evening.

Accessorizing a sparkly dress can be tough. Just finding the right shoes can be a pain. If you are fortunate enough to get a pair of shoes like Hilary’s which have their own patterned, sparkly bits that match your dress, then you’ve hit the jackpot. But we’re not all that lucky so we have to look for fashionable alternatives.
One is to make sure that your shoes are not prettier or more attention-grabbing than your dress. Unless it really goes well with the dress and complements it like Hilary’s shoes. A contrast between the shoes and the dress – fabric and pattern-wise – will usually work.
When wearing metallic or sparkly dresses, you can rarely go wrong with a pair of black strappy heels.
