IIJW is an attempt to showcase and attract the buyers from all over the world the fine craft of Indian Jewellery and has managed to successfully create a platform for the grand industry that thrives in India whose major forte in design & crafts is the art of jewellery making.

The glittering week is also a starry affair as it sees some Bollywood glamour sashaying down the ramp in fine garments and jewels. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor is the brand ambassador for the event . The spirit of IIJW 2012 is as shimmery as ever and adding to its value year after year is the Jaipur based jewellery house: Golecha Jewels.

The Brand:

The stunning jewels produced are unique yet well routed to the traditional jewellery. Luxurious handcrafted pieces redefining traditional designs with fine quality are the brand’s major selling points. The brother duo sell and promote the jewellery they believe in.

Top Features of the Collection at IIJW 2012:

For Golecha Jewels, their potpourri of jewels was an amalgamation of layering, colours, statement neckpieces and allied sets, interesting traditional motifs and a great blend of different materials to form a piece.

Layering:

India international jewellery week 2012 designer Vijay Golecha-4This definitely formed one of the most striking elements from the collection. Magnificent jewels were layered in the form of strands of dramatic neckpieces that cascaded around the neck or chunks of kundan bangles to highlight the wrist. Each level of the layers was an interesting mix of the modern touch to the traditional.

Vibrant Colours:

The collection was far away from plain metallics. The jewellery house definitely did not shy away from the use of colour in the form of precious stones like emerald & ruby or an array of the semi-precious stones, Some of which were also carved to utmost perfection.

The Common Thread of Pearls:

Either forming dainty drops or eclectic strands that would hold the piece together in the unique way, the pearls definitely added a subtle touch to each piece.

Styling Cues:

Some of the pieces were typically bridal but certain layered element by themselves would make a great option to glam up a crisp white shirt or a solid colour t-shirt matched with a casual ethnic skirt with block prints. Statement ring or a bangle would pass perfectly to wear for various occasions.

Also, forming as the highlight of the show by Golecha Jewels was the Bollywood actress Dia Mirza, who adorned a grand choker neckpiece with multiple pendants with earrings & a bracelet to match over a black corset blouse with a tiered skirt in lace for the pieces to shine and take over in all their glory. Watch the pictures here: Dia Mirza walks the ramp for Vijay and Rupa Golecha.

The show was truly spectacular and marked vibrancy for the jewellery house for the year to come!
