Chitrangada Singh has played muse to ace fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani a number of times before. It was thus, no surprise that the designer picked Chitrangada as the showstopper for his Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 show that was held in Mumbai on August 30th.

The autumn winter collection saw the use of warm and darker color palettes, the particular outfit on the actress being a mix of grey and black with rich gold thread embroidery. The overall styling reflected a care-free and edgy vibe, played through messy hair-dos and intense smokey eyes. Chitrangadha’s accessories, the nose ring and bold statement earrings, further brought out a certain rustic feel.

Tarun Tahlianini’s Winter Festive collection drew inspiration from Russian folk art and crafts; appliqués and fringes being used to a certain degree to bring out the ethnic influence. One could also find the use of different draping styles that brought out a softer and flowy silhouette. This softness was beautifully and seamlessly balanced out with the use of structured jackets and blouses.
