Celeb Showstoppers at 2012 India International Jewellery Week
Here’s a quick recap of the gorgeous faces that walked the ramp this week.
Madhuri Dixit was the piece de resistance of the grand finale on August 23. The beauty who is known for her dancing skills has been making quite a comeback in TV and film since her return from the US. She doesn’t look like she’s aged a day.
Sonam Kapoor was also one of the showstoppers at the grand finale. The willowy actress dazzled in a gold and black ghagra choli with dramatic traditional jewellery. The most beautiful thing about her ensemble is undoubtedly her smile.
When Sushmita Sen displayed jewellery by Birdichand Ghanshyamdas on August 22, it was a glorious sight indeed. The former Miss Universe looked every bit as stunning as when she won the title. Her smile, grace, poise and beauty are all proof that she still has what it takes to be an international star.
Amrita Rao showcased jewellery by Agni’s creations on August 20, bringing a burst of color and pizzazz to the ramp. She displayed a combination of tradition, confidence and competence that is the trademark of the modern Indian woman.
Juhi Chawla evoked warm smiles all around as on August 21 as she presented jewellery designs by Kays Jewels. Dressed in shimmery black and gold with traditional jewellery to accessorize, Juhi brought her own brand of charm to the ramp that was unmatched by any other celeb.
Sonali Bendre modelled jewellery by Anand Shah on August 21. This was one of the more modern designs on the ramp so the lucky lady got to wear an off-shoulder dress with a thigh-high split, which perfectly complemented the multi-colored necklace and bracelet.
Nargis Fakhri was simply ethereal as she strutted down the runway for Amrapali Jewels Pvt Ltd on August 19. Her gold dress, flowing locks, piercing eyes and flawless skin indeed made her look like she’d dropped from heaven.
Esha Gupta donned a colourful sari as she displayed traditional jewellery by Kashi Jewellers on August 22. The design had an infusion of modern elements that are sure to appeal to a global market. Of course, Esha’s own charisma did its bit to impart extra allure to the gorgeous pieces.
Gorgeous Dia Mirza walk down the ramp for Vijay and Rupa Golecha at the India International Jewellery Week in Mumbai, India on August 20. Dressed in black, Dia looked radiant in the the beautiful choker neckpiece.
Malaika Arora Khan:
Petite Malaika Arora Khan cast a spell as she walked the ramp on August 22. The former model looked nowhere near her 39 years in the youthful yellow and lime green gown and the spell-binding silver-emerald jewellery set. A bewitching picture, to be sure.
Zeenat Aman and Zarine Khan:
Late but definitely not least, we had Zeenat Aman and Zarine Khan display jewellery together on August 21. Zeenat exuded a classic, timeless elegance and Zarine matched her in sophistication and beauty.
