The first day at the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week 9th Edition Winter/Festive 2013 saw designer Swapnil Shinde’s collection on display. Indian television actors, the husband wife duo of, Apoorva Agnihotri and Shilpa Agnihotri walked the ramp as showstoppers.

The showstoppers were dressed in black, with Apoorva sporting a bandhgala suit and Shilpa in a glittering sequinned tube gown.

The combination of pastel colors was a pretty trend to watch out for. We liked how the continuity of pastel colored solid outfits was broken by using accessories in pastel colors as well. So we had a pretty dual colored jumpsuit, in coral and apricot orange, which featured a mauve belt.

Corals and powder blues were teamed with lime greens. The pastel combinations looked truly pleasant and emanated a young vibe.

An interesting feature of the collection was the use of two different materials for making the tube top and skirt of the gowns. There was a play of two variations of sequins used for the upper and lower part of a gown – as seen on Shilpa, and combining textured fabrics for the top and using crepe for the lower part of the gown as seen on the model above.
