On Monday, Mandy Moore hosted an event for an organization in New York that spreads awareness of malaria and raises funds for research.
The reception of the United Nations’ Roll Back Malaria, which marked 10 years of battling malaria, was graced by over 400 prestigious guests including royalty, heads of state and singers Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Youssou N’Dour.
Although there has been a 40% decrease in the incidence of malaria, Moore insisted that now was the time to take advantage of the momentum and keep up persistent efforts so that it could be eradicated completely by 2015, just in time to meet the millennium development goals.
