Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie are getting back together, and this time, they’re heading straight into London’s criminal underworld!
The actor-director duo, known for their distinctive blend of gritty action, sharp dialogue and dark humour, are reuniting for Dogfight, a new revenge thriller being developed for Netflix.
The project marks their seventh film together, continuing one of the most recognisable creative partnerships in modern British action cinema.
What Is Netflix’s Dogfight About?
While the complete storyline remains under wraps, Dogfight has been described as a stylish, action-packed revenge thriller set against the dangerous backdrop of London’s criminal underworld.
Ritchie will write, direct and produce the film, with Statham taking on the leading role and also serving as a producer.
The combination is a familiar one for action fans. Ritchie’s films are known for their colourful criminal characters, unpredictable twists and fast-paced storytelling, while Statham brings his trademark intensity and physical action to the screen.
Although Netflix has yet to reveal additional cast members or specific plot details, the premise suggests a return to the gritty British crime territory that helped establish both men’s careers.
A Partnership That Goes Back Nearly Three Decades
Statham and Ritchie’s working relationship began with the 1998 crime comedy Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which marked Statham’s feature film debut.
They reunited for Snatch in 2000, followed by Revolver in 2005, Wrath of Man in 2021 and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre in 2023.
The pair are also collaborating on the upcoming crime thriller Viva La Madness, making Dogfight another addition to their growing list of projects.
For fans of their earlier films, the prospect of returning to London’s underground crime scene is particularly exciting.
When Will Dogfight Release on Netflix?
Production on Dogfight is scheduled to begin in the United Kingdom in early 2027.
The film will be produced through Black Bear, Ritchie’s Toff Guy Films and Statham’s Punch Palace, with Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg also attached as producers.
Netflix has not announced an official release date.
With Statham back in front of the camera and Ritchie directing another London-set crime thriller, Dogfight already has the ingredients for an entertaining action spectacle.
And if their previous collaborations are anything to go by, audiences can expect plenty of trouble, a few dangerous characters and some seriously explosive confrontations.
