London was freezing on the evening of December 12 when the long-awaited film “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” was screened as part of the Royal Film Performance. But that didn’t stop the ladies on the red carpet from showing off some skin. Actress Cate Blanchett looked especially mind-blowing in a backless gown as she arrived at the Empire in Leicester Square, London.

Cate was stunning in a white gown featuring a high neck, full sleeves and a side slit. The winning elements of the outfit were the metal accents on the shoulders and the cutout on the back.
Her accessories were by Givenchy too – an elegant white clutch and nude and transparent high heels.

The mother-of-three styled her look with minimal makeup and a simple, soft updo. Her eyes were defined by a brilliant copper eye liner, but apart from that her natural beauty took over.
