Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring Summer 2027 show in New York came with an unexpected live soundtrack, courtesy of Slayyyter.
The pop artist made a surprise appearance during the show, performing “UNKNOWN LOVERZ” and “DANCE…”from her latest album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA. The performance unfolded inside The Plaza, where Slayyyter was joined by a chamber orchestra, giving her glossy, high energy pop sound a more dramatic and polished setting.
The contrast worked. Slayyyter’s music is usually associated with club energy and a sharper electronic edge, but the orchestral arrangement brought a different mood to the room and gave the performance a sense of occasion that suited the setting.
For the appearance, the 29 year old singer kept her look simple but striking in a red button up shirt and black micro shorts. The combination felt playful, confident and perfectly in line with the polished American sportswear mood surrounding the Tommy Hilfiger show.
The performance also came shortly after Slayyyter’s Australian tour dates, making the New York appearance another high profile moment in what has already been a busy run for the singer.
Fashion week performances can sometimes feel like an add on, but this one had more personality. The chamber orchestra, the grand Plaza backdrop and Slayyyter’s very modern pop presence created an interesting mix of old New York glamour and contemporary music culture.
