The arrivals area of the 2012 BET Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on July 1 was flooded with a bevy of beauties in a number of gorgeous hairstyles. Curls ruled the evening but there were also a couple of straight-hair looks and updos that made quite an impact.
Shanell swept her yummy, curly locks over her left shoulder and pinned a black hair accessory featuring colored feathers on the crown for dramatic effect. A bewitching combination, don’t you think?
Erica Hubbard’s large curls made her look like a beautiful, life-size doll. Full points for sporting a hairdo that’s high on glamour while yet making her very approachable.
Oooh Lala Vasquez! She combined aspects from two popular hairstyles this year – the sleek top knot and the fishtail braid. The result is, as you can see, youthful and flirty.
Selita Ebanks was simply darling. She just pinned back her curly and left the ends loose. There’s a very down-to-earth, wholesome and sweet feel to this look.
Eva Pigford was modern and chic in her cropped hairstyle. That shade of platinum blonde is offset perfectly by the hue of her dusky skin. We love the way she’s balanced out the minimalist hairstyle with those stupendous dangle earrings.
Kenya Moore was very, very sexy in her very, very straight long hair. There’s an essence of power in this hairstyle that’s reminiscent of Tyra Banks when she’s educating the hopefuls on America’s Top Model about what’s what.
Joyful Drake styled her hair in a messy updo which veered more to the right side of the back of her head than the left. Her grown-out bangs spilled forth from a deep side parting on the left, styled in curls at the ends to impart a charming appeal.
Klya Pratt wanted modern and edgy but also craved something feminine. She accomplished all and more with her long hair swept over her shoulder and curled at the ends, and choppy blunt bangs.
Chaka Khan impressed us with her tight curls, some of which were colored a blazing red that made the Queen of Funk look fiery and sassy.
