Dior Launches New Backstage Glow-Up Skin Tint

Dior is giving its Backstage line a new complexion essential with the launch of Dior Backstage Glow-Up Skin Tint, a lightweight tinted moisturiser designed for people who want their skin to look fresher without covering it completely.

The new formula sits somewhere between makeup and skincare, with buildable light to medium coverage, a soft glow finish, SPF 20 and 24 hour hydration claims. Dior is positioning it as its first 3 in 1 tinted moisturiser, combining complexion makeup, skincare benefits and sun protection in one step.

And instead of launching it through a polished beauty fantasy, Dior has taken the product back to the place that inspired the entire Backstage line in the first place: behind the scenes.

A Skin Tint Made for the Backstage Mood

The campaign stars Jisoo, Jenna Ortega and Anya Taylor-Joy, alongside models Akon and Nikita, moving through a backstage setting as they get ready before stepping into the spotlight. Directed by Les Torso and photographed by Drew Vickers, the imagery focuses on preparation rather than the final perfect beauty shot.

That feels like the right way to introduce a skin tint. This is not a product trying to create a completely new face. The idea is closer to making the skin look a little more even, a little more luminous and a little more awake while still allowing natural texture to show through.

Dior describes the finish as a “my skin but better” effect, which fits perfectly with the current shift away from very heavy base makeup.

Light Coverage, But Not Barely There

One of the more interesting things about Glow-Up Skin Tint is that it is not positioned as an ultra sheer tint.

The formula starts light but can be built up to medium coverage, making it more flexible for days when you want a little extra correction around redness, uneven tone or pigmentation. The brand also claims the tint is waterproof and crease proof, giving it more wear than the typical lightweight tinted moisturiser.

That combination could make it particularly useful for everyday makeup. You get something that still looks like skin, but you are not limited to barely there coverage.

The Skincare Side Is a Big Part of the Story

Dior has also pushed the skincare element quite strongly. The Glow-Up Skin Tint is infused with fragmented collagen, which the brand says helps create a plumping effect while delivering up to 24 hours of hydration. The formula also includes broad spectrum SPF 20.

That makes the product feel very much in step with where complexion makeup is going. Foundation, skincare and SPF are increasingly overlapping, especially in products designed for daily wear.

One practical note, though: SPF 20 in makeup is a useful extra layer, but most people will still want a dedicated sunscreen underneath for reliable everyday sun protection.

Twenty Four Shades and Three Undertones

Dior is launching Glow-Up Skin Tint in 24 shades, ranging from very light to deep, across Cool Rosy, Neutral and Warm undertones.

That range matters because skin tints can be surprisingly unforgiving when undertones are wrong. With lighter formulas, people sometimes assume shade matching does not matter as much, but even sheer coverage can turn grey, orange or overly pink if the undertone is off.

Dior also uses Jenna Ortega in shade 2N, giving shoppers at least one visible reference point within the campaign.

Why Jisoo, Jenna Ortega and Anya Taylor-Joy Work Together

The casting makes the campaign more interesting because the three stars bring completely different beauty identities.

Jisoo naturally suits polished, luminous beauty. Jenna Ortega brings a moodier, more directional edge, while Anya Taylor-Joy has that ethereal quality that works particularly well with glowing skin.

Dior does not force them into one identical beauty look. Instead, the campaign uses the Glow-Up Skin Tint as the common base while allowing each face to feel different.

That is probably the most effective way to sell a modern complexion product.

The goal is not for everyone to look the same. It is for everyone to look like a fresher version of themselves.

Dior Backstage Is Leaning Further Into Glow

The launch also fits neatly into Dior Backstage’s wider beauty direction.

The line already includes products such as the Glassy Glow Stick, a hydrating multi use highlighter designed to create a glass skin effect, so Glow-Up Skin Tint gives the brand a complexion base that can sit underneath that same dewy aesthetic.

Together, the message is clear: glow is no longer just something you add on top of foundation. It starts with the skin itself.

Glamcheck Take

Dior Backstage Glow-Up Skin Tint feels very much like a product made for the way people are wearing makeup now. Light enough to still look like skin, buildable enough to be useful, and packed with skincare and SPF benefits, it sits comfortably between foundation and tinted moisturiser. And with Jisoo, Jenna Ortega and Anya Taylor-Joy fronting the campaign, Dior is making one thing very clear.

The new beauty goal is not flawless skin. It is skin that still looks like yours, just on a very good day.
