Kim Kardashian knows how to make a store opening feel like a fashion event.
For the Skims London flagship party during London Fashion Week, Kim stepped out in a sculpted tan gown by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, turning the Regent Street celebration into one of the week’s most photographed celebrity style moments.
And yes, the dress was very Kim. Body hugging, skin toned and unapologetically sexy. But there were enough clever details to keep it from feeling like another familiar neutral gown.
The Dress Was All About Construction
The look featured a fitted corset style bodice with a deep sweetheart neckline and slim shoulder straps. Silver grommets traced the structured upper half, giving the dress an almost industrial edge against the soft tan colour.
From there, the silhouette became softer.
The fabric hugged closely through the waist and hips before opening into a floor length mermaid skirt. A dramatic diagonal slit climbed high along one leg, revealing a sheer gauzy panel underneath. More silver grommets and lace up detailing ran along the opening, making the slit feel like part of the construction rather than a random cut out.
That contrast worked really well. The top was sharp and corseted, while the lower half had movement and transparency.
The Shoes Kept the Same Energy
Kim paired the gown with brown strappy heels that wrapped up the lower leg.
It could easily have become too much with such a detailed dress, but the sandals stayed visually light and allowed the lace up work on the gown to remain the focus.
Jewellery was kept minimal, which was the right choice. There was already enough happening through the neckline, grommets and sheer detailing.

Kim wore her long dark hair loose in soft waves, balancing the stronger structure of the dress.
Her makeup stayed firmly within her signature glam zone, with defined brows, dark lashes and liner, flushed cheeks and a rosy lip.

The collection brings together Skims’ body conscious simplicity with Ludovic’s love of sheer fabrics, lace up construction and sensual silhouettes. Kim has worn his work for years, so this London appearance almost felt like a preview of the creative relationship behind the collaboration.

Very Kim, but sharper. The skin toned colour kept the look familiar, while the corsetry, metal details and sheer slit gave it enough edge to feel fresh.
