Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor, the talented designer duo presented their opulent Bridal collection aptly named “Mughal Opera” on September 14th at Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week.
Sizzling Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu, was the show stopper in a gorgeous lehnga and a brocade corset with embroidered tulle to show off her toned mid-riff. The dazzling maang-tika and bracelets by Falguni Mehta were resplendent with precious metals to allure the audience.

Bipasha’s look was that of a seductive Mughal bride complete with smoky eyes, peach tinted cheeks, coral lips and lustrous hair. The embroidery was lavish with abstract floral motifs etched out in true Mughal form.
The collection had lehngas styled in various ways with shimmery cholis. Long tulle sleeves conjoined with ruching on the wrists. The fabrics included brocade, velvet, tulle, silk, and other luxurious fabrics.
There was no dearth of shimmer and shine for the bride-to-be. Rich bridal colors like gold, maroon, and scarlet looked apt for the occasion. The lavish feather of gold jutted out of the choli screaming for attention.
One-shoulder style could be seen here too as the designer duo played with patterns for the choli.
Panels of floral motifs streamed down the hem of the lehnga which looked like a piece of Mughal architecture. The abundance of gold and silver work on the ensembles transported us back to the era of the Mughal kings when Indian textiles gained favor.
Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor stayed true to their theme and brought opulence back to the Bridal ramp with this elegant collection.
