Bollywood actor Salman Khan has contributed Rs. 25 lakh to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh through his NGO Being Human. The proceeds, which came from a celebrity concert, will be used to fund hundreds of heart surgeries in the state.
Salman Khan’s Being Human Donates 25 Lakh to UP Healthcare
Salman said that his aim has always been to contribute to both education as well as healthcare in India as much as he can.
He said that wherever his travels took him, he saw it as an opportunity to provide aid to the locals.
Being Human just recently donated enough for 100 similar heart surgeries in Maharashtra when the superstar was performing in Nagpur.
Coming back to the UP donation, the money will go to helping 80 kids who are already waiting to get the heart surgeries they so desperately need to survive. They will all be operated up on by the end of January.
In addition, the funds will buy a ventilator, echo machine and an x-ray machine for the paediatric unit.
