September 21, 2015 by niveditaabem

The Navritri Dandiya fever is upon us! That time of the year we bring out our best lehenga cholis, dress up like a glam queen and dance the night away. But deciding the Dandiya outfit can get one into a tizzy, for there’s a lot to consider – the comfort level, the trends and the right glamour quotient. Imagine getting caught in last year’s fashion! Fret no more; our beloved TV stars have brought out their latest 2015 Dandiya looks. Let’s check out and steal some inspiration!

The festive night was about being bright and glitzy for Debina Bonnerjeecha. Her outfit was a gold polka-dot pink, blue ghagra-choli and a mint green dupatta with shimmery gold borders. As for jewelleries, it was all-time favorite traditional gold. Her hairstyle was retro inspired middle parted straight hair and with curly side bangs. These were a huge rage back in the days!

A deep green and pink ghagra was actress Samiksha Bhatnagar’s pick. It was a subtle affair with just the hint of richness through the border gold motifs. She further skipped the jewelleries but for a pair of traditional jhumkis. To finish the look, her wavy tresses were pulled to one side and her lips, given a lovely pink shine.

Amruta Khanvilkar wore a red and teal colored lehenga suit. The outfit was not over the top but had just the right dose of glamour. A chokar necklace, heavy earrings ang bangles added to Amruta’s easy festive look.

Asha Negi kept it daywear simple in a modern top and flared skirt. The modern twist was fine but we wish she had opted for a chic crop top instead of the spaghetti top. A downer it was! Come on Dandia is supposed to be all bright, fun and glitzy, isn’t it?

For Payal Rohatgi, it was the bold colors that stole the limelight. Payal wore a cheery yellow lehenga choli with slight gold detailings and a deep blue dupatta for that contrast element. A stunning choice, loved the colors and the way Payal styled the look with large hoop earrings and statement necklace.

Gauhar Khan went for a contemporary halter crop top, skirt and dupatta separates. The skirt was striking, the berry pink beautifully complemented Gauhar’s skin tone and the minimalistic styling was right on point. Lovely!

To sum up, the latest trends say go for:

  1. Color blocking

  2. Bold bright colors

  3. Mix-match

  4. Go easy with the jewelleries and the bling factor

  5. For make-up, focus on either the lips or eyes

Make sure your skirts have a lovely flare to get that dramatic effect when you dance. And, last but not the least, always dress according to your personality. Be gorgeous, Have fun!
