The BET Rip the Runway event on February 27 was overflowing with beautiful and extremely talented women who stormed the red carpet in their elegant ensembles. A recurring theme was the monotone look with a surprising number of celebs opting for the basic colors.
Teyana Taylor opted for an all-black look, except for the pop of neon yellow on her manicured nails.

She sported a mostly-sheer black dress, her modesty protected by appropriate black innerwear. Thigh-high black boots formed a large part of her ensemble, as did her voluminous curls which just missed dominating her look entirely.
Sevyn went offbeat with her monotone look, infusing a little more color than her counterparts.

She wore a cropped full-sleeve white top with black and white pants which also featured a colorful print from hip to knees. A matching jacket was tied around her waist, imitating a popular look from the 90s. Matching colorful ankle-straps completed her ensemble. The pants and shoes lent a much-welcome unpredictability that suits the crooner’s empowering artistic style.

A cropped black jacket, black pointy pumps and a statement necklace completed her look. The necklace was a good choice as it mimicked a statement collar – one of the biggest trends at the moment.
Jada Pinkett Smith rocked an all-white jumpsuit with a wraparound-style top, structured shoulders and three-fourth sleeves.

A black belt sat low on her waist, breaking the monotony. Her stacked peep-toes and slim clutch were black too. She looked svelte, stylish and modern.
Kelly Rowland was lovely in a full-length black dress with a flowing skirt. We love the sparkly slim belt that defines her waistline.

That little bit of bling makes all the difference in upping the glamour quotient of her look. Her blunt bangs and almost-straight locks give her ensemble just the right finishing touch for the red carpet.
