Fashion designer Anupama Dayal showcased her collection “Kama” on day 1 of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Autumn-Winter 2014 in New Delhi, India on March 26, 2014. The collection was inspired by the Kamasutra, an influence you could plainly see in every single creation that came down the runway.

The first thing you noticed about Aunpama’s runway was the burst of colour, an unusual trait when it comes to an Autumn-Winter collection, but we’re not complaining. Bright yellow, green, red, pink, maroon and lavender made for one stunning outfit after another.

She stuck primarily to lehenga-cholis, with a few saris thrown in too. The cholis were all quite tiny, minimally cut and often just a tube top. Meanwhile, the lehengas made up for this top-half minimalism with great designs and unmistakable flair. Sex appeal was definitely one of the more prominent characteristics of every single ensemble.

The makeup on the models was mainly nude, all the better, we suppose, to let the multiple hues of the clothes stand out. The eyes were darkened heavily though, with many models sporting a hint of a cat’s eye sweep.

When it came to accessories, Anupama dolled up her models in contemporary Indian necklaces and ethnic armbands while some of the ladies on the ramp also wore hair accessories large and small.
