Monsoon Essentials

Monsoon Footwear

Footwear is another issue and a very important consideration while you step out of your house in rain. You, consciously, slip into an old fashioned, worn out pair to prevent your favorite and expensive one from ruining in the rain. However, the good news for you this monsoon is that the market is brimming with high fashion shoes that you can very happily and confidently slip into and enjoy the otherwise painful monsoon season! Now, you are no longer bound to wear old-fashioned and worn out footwear when it's raining.

Wear shoes that can protect you from the rain as well as the one that can endure the  rain.

Put your leather and suede shoes away until winter as leather is very prone to damage as it breeds fungus and bacteria .

Go for sandals or floaters with straps that can hold the shoe in place and save you from slipping into the mud and dirt.
Go for rubber sandals and slippers as they are easy to wash and are least affected by rain, mud and dirt. Rubber is an ideal material as it dries soon, is water-proof and is not affected by moisture to the extend that it wears!!

Wear strappy floaters and sandals as they let the skin breathe. Rubber mules and slippers will help you combat rain. However, it may spoil your dress and feet by splashing mud and dirt.

Boots are also a good option but avoid leather boots. Rain-boots and gum-boots protect the feet from mud, dirt and water during monsoon. They are water-proof and are mostly made from rubber.
Lycra boots look great and survive monsoon. High heel boots must to be substituted with flat boots.

Rain boots

Heels are not a good choice for rainy-season as they fail to provide the extra grip and hold with the ground when it is muddy and slippery.

Ballet flats are an all-time favorite. Go for slip-resistant sandals and shoes.

Sandals with ankle-straps can also help you provide the extra grip and hold required when it rains heavily.

Flip-flops and flats are apt for the rainy season as they can help you tread the muddy path with ease and comfort. However, try wearing them only when it's not raining too heavily as they can stain your legs with mud. So, try to pair your pair of flip-flops with a short skirt or capri.

While choosing the one for yourself don't limit yourself to the usual brown or black ones. Transparent, bright, electrifying rubber foot-wear are highly in vogue. Colors like hot pink, red, orange, navy blue, green are in.

Boys can choose from a whole lot of sports sandals and gum-boots that reach up to the knees.

Small children should wear shoes with laces rather than those footwear that are slipped-in. Wear cotton socks that can dry fast. Socks will also act as a protective layer in between your skin and shoes that your wearing.
