The much loved Stree universe is returning with a third chapter. Makers have confirmed that Stree 3, starring Rajkummar Rao, is scheduled to arrive in 2028.
The announcement was made at an event in Mumbai, where producer Dinesh Vijan revealed that director Amar Kaushik has completed the script. While the makers are keeping the plot details under wraps, Vijan hinted that the new film will retain the humour, horror and familiar characters audiences enjoy while taking the story in an unexpected direction.
Vijan also suggested that the film could release around Independence Day or Christmas in 2028, although an exact date has not yet been announced. He described the upcoming chapter as a complete revelation, promising that both its beginning and ending will surprise viewers.
The franchise began with Stree in 2018, introducing Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee to a horror comedy world rooted in folklore and small town India. The story continued with Stree 2 in 2024, which became a major box office success.
Rajkummar Rao recently recalled the modest beginnings of the first film and the team’s faith in Amar Kaushik’s vision. That same creative energy has helped turn the franchise into one of Hindi cinema’s most popular horror comedy series.
With the script now ready, expectations for Stree 3 are already building. The next chapter promises more mystery, more madness and another unexpected visit from the supernatural world.
