Ball-gown Dress
Silhouette
Ball gowns feature a form-fitted bodice and a dropped waistline that gives way to a loosely draping, fuller skirt. Most of them are full-skirted and made puffier with the help of a wired underskirt known as a Crinoline. Pleats, gathers or ruffles may also be incorporated into the skirts to make them appear fuller. The ball gowns may be worn with petticoats or hoop skirts.
They may reach up-to your ankles or a bit more lower.
Most of them, generally, feature a low-cut neckline that may expose a larger decollete. They may also be cut wide enough to give maximum exposure to your shoulders. Some may be completely shoulder-less. The ones with spaghetti straps are also popular.
Tea-length dresses are an alternative for little girls.
