What color to wear

October 29, 2009 by sarita

Warm Skin Tone

Outfits

Colors to go with

Warm skin tones call for intense fiery shades.

Choose dark colors like Purple, Deep Pink, Blue Green and Burgundy. Colors like Lavender, Soft neutrals and Pastels flatter your coloring.

Colors to avoid

Avoid colors that contrast your skin tone.Don't use anything that looks white , beige or cream because the contrast will be so extreme that it won't be flattering your skin tone.

Anything too dark on your dark skin  also does not work for you as they don't stand out against your beautiful dark skin.

You also need to avoid shades that are diluted such as reds with orange tings, rustic golds and mossy greens.

Make-Up

Colors to go with

Foundation: Since foundation is the base on which you will build your entire look, it is important that it should perfectly match to your skin tone. Foundations generally have either a  blue-toned or a golden base, with variations that flatter a wide group of faces falling in the warm and cool ranges.

For a Warm skin tone, choose a foundation that has yellow-base Undertones.

One should test the color on the face (not on the wrist or hand!) and have a look at in sunlight to make sure of having a good match.

Powder: Opt for loose powder that you can apply evenly on the face.Designed to set the make-up and control excess shine, powder will give your face a perfectly made-up look.

Choose powder that has Yellow-base undertones.

Blush:Warm skin tones look best in auburn or rich bronzes. Bolder colors for darker skin helps to achieve a natural glow.

Lipstick: Choosing lipstick color is the most difficult. Before you choose any shade, it is important to first examine a tester version of the lipsticks on a sheet of white paper to discover their dominant color.

If you have a dark skin tone, choose colors like rose, magenta, and shades of purple.

Eye Shadow: For warm skin tones, different tones of bronze, cream, light brown, red/pink, soft green, and coral are best to go with.
