Brit actress Naomi Watts had the shutterbugs in overdrive as she arrived at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California for the AFI Fest 2011 where her new movie J. Edgar would be screened as part of the opening night gala on November 3. The 43-year-old looked absolutely stunning in her plunging sequined gown borrowed straight from the 20s.
The sleeveless silver number was slit to the thigh, showing off her perfect legs. It had beads and sequins all over which shimmered as she walked. The floor-sweeping outfit had a feel of old Hollywood and brought to mind the elegance and mystery of days-of-yore actress Greta Garbo.
Naomi accessorized with a pair of sexy strappy stilettos in silver, a lovely silver clutch, an interesting silver necklace, and a silver bracelet. You’d think from reading this that she wore too much silver and that it would be too overwhelming. But it was surprisingly well-balanced out and she looked picture perfect from head to toe. Perhaps because silver is a great color for this blond beaity, or perhaps because the fabric of the dress was flowy and dreamy.
All that silver did leave room for some bold color though, which Naomi took advantage of with strong red lipstick, some subtle red on her cheeks, and dark eye makeup. Her hair looked beautiful – parted on the left and tucked behind her ear, while the hair on the right was curled and fell to the front of her shoulders.
Kudos to Naomi for pulling off a silver dress and a retro look. A tough act to follow, but this stylish star is sure to outdo herself again. We can’t wait to see her next selection.
