Every year the CFDA honors those who have contributed exceptionally towards American fashion, in any of the various fields related to the industry. Whether it be design, journalism, art, creative vision or the overall achievements by someone having spent an entire lifetime in the field of fashion. The much awaited event this year is going to be held on the 6th of June at the Alice Tully Hall situated at Lincoln Centre in New York city.
The lifetime achievement award has been christened the Geoffrey Beene Award for recognizing the man’s incomparable contributions to American fashion. Other noteworthy awards presented on the occasion will be the Swarovski Awards for contribution in womenswear, menswear and accessories. This particular award was started by Perry Ellis in the year 1986 to recognize the best new talents in the industry.
This year is also going to complete a decade of Swarovski’s support and sponsorship to the CFDA Fashion Awards.
