The Triangle Body Shape / Thyroid / Pear

The Triangle shaped body, like a triangle, is heavier at the bottom and narrower at the top.

A woman with a Triangle-shape figure has a proportionate upper half and a torso and rib-cage that is slim.

The waist is smaller than the hips. the lower half is, no doubts, well-endowed.

Most of the women belonging to this body type have fuller bottoms and legs.

A major challenge for a woman having a triangle shape body is to create an illusion of a well-proportionate body.

If you belong to this body-type, select clothes that can draw attention to the bust and also help create a well-defined waistline. The hips and thighs have to appear narrower so that the body appears more proportionate.

Jennifer Lopez wears a white top which covers up her hips.

Styling Tips

DO’s

* Wear dark color bottoms and team them with tops that are light in color. This will flatter the upper half of the body.

* Choose tops and jackets that have some prints or details at the shoulders. They will help balance the shoulders to the hips.

* Shoulder pads are a good option as they can help give the shoulders an extended look.

* Cap sleeves can make shoulders look wider. So try to wear them.

* Neckline that is more deeper in length than the breadth will give an elongated look to the upper-half of your body and help draw attention away from the lower half, which is your problem area.

* V-necks, off-the-shoulder necklines, scoop-necks and Square neckline will give a widening effect to your narrow shoulders and draw attention up to your neck and face.

* Wear tops that are long enough to reach up to your waistline and make sure that they provide only partial coverage to your hips.

* Ruffles and frills at the necklines will draw attention towards the upper half of your body.

* Wear bold prints and patterns at the top with a dark bottom.

DONT’s

* Avoid wearing close fitted tops and blouses as they can make the upper half of your body appear slimmer than the lower half.

* Avoid eye-catching prints and patterns at the bottoms.

* Avoid gatherings and ruffles at the bottoms as the extra volume of fabric can make you appear wider at the bottom.

* Avoid wearing blouses with details at the waistline.

* Avoid wearing light colors at the bottom.

* Avoid skinny jeans.
