Pencil Skirt or Formal Trousers – The Corporate Divide

March 12, 2015 by swatirao

We hear you, Yes!!! It is the real to be or not be situation isn’t it- When it comes to formals, the dilemma of choosing the right style, colour, fit, etc. is a complicated task. With women handling positions where their fashion quotient is tested and looked up to each day, it becomes challenging to keep up to the 10/10 mark of being the no nonsense corporate diva every day. We feel the same pressure too!

For our corporate- jetsetter fashionistas (and we think all of you beautiful Women deserve all our attention as you not only earn your bread with style but also rock the office floors with an elan), the style poll offers two de-glam corporate looks which can be effortlessly replicated and personalised.

The Corporate divide Style Poll: Corporate Corporate Diva in Pencil skirt v/s Jetsetter in Formal Trouser

Look 1: The Corporate Jetsetter in Formal Trousers

If you are the high flyer who has her breakfast in New Delhi, lunch in Shanghai and dinner in Macau, this look is perfect and a must! The look is tailored keeping the travelling and corporate affairs in mind. The look essentially is a combination of a formal leg-o-muttoned sleeves blouse in pure white and black highlights. The synthetic mix content in the fabric keeps the wrinkles away maintaining the crispness and the edge of the look. The royal blue ankle length trousers add to the look along with the metal embellishments at the pocket mark adding a subtle playful twist. The textured-tweed jacket is colour coordinated with the pants and is smart add- on option depending upon the requirement of the hour.

The look is accentuated with a pair of formal matte-sued-leather comfy décolleté round toe pumps. The pumps could be in coordinated royal blue or classic black ones from your wardrobe. All you need is a pair of icy-blue sunglasses to the rock this look.

Look 2: Corporate Diva Look in Pencil Skirt

If the trouser look didn’t impress you enough, the pencil skirt has got to! The pencil skirt is the ultimate fashion mantra for the corporate look. But is a tricky one too, overdo it and it’s in the eyes of every Tom, Dick and Harry for all the wrong reasons; and when under done just reflects a bad fashion day!

Don’t worry our Corporate Diva look has it all sorted and is a spot look which will make heads turn only for admiring your work and your flawless fashion styles. The look is put together using a cotton- spandex formal pure white shirt (with a great fit). The fit of the shirt is of utmost importance and should not be overlooked. The right amount of spandex content in the fabric mix is the key! The look is completed with a structured classic four dart pencil skirt in black and is accessorised with the round toe sued- leather black pumps and a pair of sunglasses. The length of the skirt is our priority and should be precisely just 3” above the knee. The look may sound simple to comprehend and execute, but takes a true diva to sport it that well.

We can’t differentiate between the two for a front runner favourite! But we would like you to pick your favourite version for the day and urge you to try both! So which look suits your agenda at work today the Corporate Jetsetter in Formal trousers or the Corporate diva in Pencil skirt?
