Indian bridal

January 19, 2010 by sheetal

Marriages in India are very bright, huge and larger than life. The wedding events are full of fun, rituals and celebrations. The rituals and celebrations continue for several days. Marriages in India are mostly arranged ones, but love marriage is also becoming quite popular. In India, wedding not only means bride and groom tying the  knot , but its also a union of two families.  An arranged marriage in India, is effectively the result of a wide search by both the girl’s family and the boy’s family. They check for compatibility on various parameters.

Indian bridal

Wedding traditions vary across region and caste. Wedding  is structured into pre-wedding ceremonies, wedding day ceremonies and the vidaai.

Indian bridal wear is almost same for all the religion and caste.  Indian bridal wear comprises of lehnga-choli, saree and salwaar- kameez. Most brides prefer to wear lehnga choli on their wedding day. They wear saree and salwaar kameez on various other rituals like mehndi, sangeet, engagement, haldi , vidaai etc. On the wedding day, the Indian bride dresses up like a princess, she is all decked up with heavy jewelry and beautiful outfits made of rich fabric such as brocade, silk and tafetta. The bridal makeup makes the bride look outstanding.
