19-year-old Yaritza Reyes was all smiles after she bagged the Miss Dominican Republic 2013 crown at the qualifying beauty pageant in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on August 3.

Although the finals lasted for just two hours that evening, the contestants had been preparing for the big day for several weeks. Apart from the regular physical workouts and modelling classes, the beauties had been trained in dramatics and speaking.

But it wasn’t all work and no play. In the few hours that they had time off from their gruelling schedules, they also paid a visit to some of the top tourist spots, no doubt drawing quite the crowd everywhere they went.

Yaritza comes from the province of Elias Pina and she beat 30 other contestants for the coveted spot. She will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant in Moscow on November 9 this year.
