Food for a healthy skin and body

A healthy skin and a well toned body is every woman’s dream and she leaves no option to get the perfect one. Trying out various beauty and slimming products is one way of achieving the desired skin and body, but one of the secrets of having a naturally healthy skin and body lies in proper diet rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Raw/uncooked fruits and vegetables are enriched with vitamins, minerals, proteins and fibers essential for our body. A lot of good ingredients such as enzymes are lost by boiling and cooking. Enzymes play an important role in digesting the food and eliminating the waste. All fibrous fruits and vegetables are enriched with enzymes. Some examples are: Papaya, pineapple, onion and cabbage.

Vitamin C helps rebuild collagen, and produces skin with elasticity and firmness. It also promotes healing. Citrus fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, oranges, lemon and cabbage are high in vitamin C.

Soy proteins having high amount of amino acids, help the skin retain moisture and give the skin a smooth appearance.

Sulphur and Silicon, are very important ingredients to maintain skin, nails and hair healthy. Sulphur is mostly found in onion, broccoli, pumpkin seeds, cabbage and garlic, while spinach, apples, cherries, grapes, strawberries, cucumbers, carrots and green vegetables are rich with Silicon.

All green vegetables contain good amounts of iron and fiber. They help to reduce wrinkles and give your skin a healthy look.

Garlic and onion have selenium, ingredients which keep our skin healthy elastic. Garlic is also high in anti-oxidants.

Drink as much water as you can. It is the best medium of elimination toxic waste out from our skin and body. Water also help in proper digestion and nourishes and hydrates the skin naturally. Daily 10-15 glasses of water leaves you fresh and healthy.

Green tea is also an excellent anti-oxidant which improves your immune system.
