Day 2 of the mind-blowing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 took off on October 7 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi with a bang that fashionistas across the country – and perhaps even the world – could hear.
Designer Sakshee Pradhan was one of the talented lot who showcased her collection that day.

She cashed in on one of the biggest and hottest trends of the year – the color nude. She played on it, of course, bringing in neutral tones from salmon to a very gorgeous champagne that had us eating our hearts out.
Sakshee said that her line was inspired by the humble sparrow – an influence that is distinctively obvious in a brilliant, double-slit, one-shoulder evening gown with a delicate print of sparrows on trees in gold. It was grandiose but still exuding vast reserves of understated elegance.
Her other nude/pink ensembles draped across the female form in flowy as well as tight-fit designs that married timeless cuts to a prevailing trend. She teamed almost all her designs with silver shoes – a glamorous addition that we’re sure we’ll see imitated on the red carpet in India and across the world in the days to come.

The show-stopper of the evening was Bollywood actress and model Diana Penty who brought the house down when she appeared on the ramp clad in a full-length salmon gown with an intriguing cutout on the bodice.
The minimalistic cut of the sophisticated number embodied, according to Sakshee, the very spirit of the freedom-loving and beautiful little sparrow.
