Lakme Fashion Week Summer-Resort 2014 Dates Announced

Right on the heels of the film awards season comes the spate of fashion weeks beginning with Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) which will start on March 12, 2014 and go on till March 16, 2014. The news was announced at a very fashionable press conference in Mumbai, India on February 18, 2014.

Many Bollywood celebs, runway models and designers were present to hear the announcement including Shibani Dandekar, Neha Sharma, model Sucheta Sharma, Mandira Bedi, designer Neeta Lulla, Rhea Chakraborty, Mahi Gill, designer Archana Kochhar, Anita Dongre and Amrita Puri.

The Summer/Resort edition of LFW will kickstart with ace designer Manish Malhotra who will be followed by close to 100 designers who will be showcasing their very best this year. That’s 23 first-timers, a host of established designers, and many really good ones who are on their way to becoming greats.

The toss for the grand finale was won by Rajesh Pratap Singh who has roped in actress Kareena Kapoor as his show-stopper. The producers of the week-long fashion extravaganza have also hinted that they are planning something new and exciting for the last day.
