Perfect Hair Colour & Makeup for Indian Skin Tone

November 8, 2017 by madhulina

Indian women have the most radiant skin in the world and their soft texture with a little tan is intensely desirable. You need to know the tone of your skin and the perfect colour for your hair to flaunt your Indian Skin tone and style with natural flair.

“Beauty is skin deep” and to hold this true we need to look at ourselves and feel perfect. Having said that, the most important thing which, I believe holds true for fabulous makeup and hair is to find the accurate shade of colour that goes with your skin tone.

So, here I am with suggestions up my sleeve to cure your makeup & hair woes.

Makeup that Looks Best on Radiant Indian Skin Tones

Makeup is a medium to achieve the illusion of perfectness. It is wise to utilize certain good things to our advantage and makeup is one of them. Women love makeup because it gives them a sense of self-confidence, respect and many other things. Indian women feel empowered by this magical medium and we recommend you to make full use of it.

Skin Care

Your skin needs to look flawless on every occasion because you are special. There are three basic rules for healthy, glowing skin and i.e. cleansing, toning and moisturising.

Tip: If you have dry skin then, apply moisturiser before the primer and if you have oily skin then, apply some ice onto your skin before the primer. For combination skin, carry out both the steps on your skin.

The Shade of Foundation

Foundation should be in sync with your original Indian skin tone. Indians generally, have a golden tint to their skin. You should always check for the brand that has shades suited for Indians. MAC in association with ace Make-up artist Mickey Contractor for example, has brought our shades fit for Indian skin. All of the foundations have a golden tint to them.

Tip: You can also mix two shades of foundation to bring out the perfect colour for your delicious skin.

Eyes, Cheeks, Lips & Nails

Peach Makeup for Indian Skin Tone:

Peach is a colour that instantly elevates your face. It takes its name from the peach fruit and is one of the best colours for your cheeks and lips.

How to Wear the Colour

  • Peach blush-on will blend with your golden Indian skin perfectly.

  • Apply it on lips with a nude face in matte or gloss

  • Wear it as an eye-shadow on your eye-lids. You can blend dual shades of peach and tangerine for some eye-catching style

Burgundy Makeup for Indian Skin Tone:

The colour is a raging trend this Fall. Read our article ‘Colours for the Versatile Indian Skin Tone’ for the full report on the Burgundy trend. Burgundy is a shade of maroon and looks beautiful on Indian skin.

  • Burgundy looks glamorous on your nails as well. Check in at the parlour for well-manicured Burgundy nails. Keep your nails short to bring out the true colours

Red Makeup for Indian Skin Tone :

The colour red looks fabulous on Olive skins. The bright colour goes well with your complexion. Don’t look back after wearing it.

How to Wear the colour

  • Light Browns have the tendency to blend with your Indian skin tone and helps in creating a no makeup look. The allure comes with that golden brown tint which creates fascinating eyes and cheeks.

  • Wear a nude colour lipstick with dramatic eyes

  • Manicured nude nails also are a good option for your nails

  • A flush of this hue on your cheeks will uplift your face and perfect your look

Rose Pink for Indian Skin Tone :

This colour works for any skin tone. Bring softness to your face by dusting rose pink on your cheeks and lips. The Olive skin tone can carry this hue with aplomb.

How to Wear the colour

  • This colour works well on your lips as it adds softness and allure

  • Apply it on your nails for the appealing factor

  • Wear it on your cheeks for the flush of colour on them

Tip: Go for copper, beige, peach and wine for your eyes and lips. Try to stick to peach and pink for your cheeks. Beige works fine on your nails as well as cheeks if you are taking the nude face route.

Always go for black liner for your eyes as that defines and beautifies your eyes like no other colour. You can be experimental with copper and wine but, stick to black for the ‘killer look’.

Perfect Hair Colour for Indian Skin Tone

Indian women are blessed with lustrous hair. Their natural dark hair is perfectly in sync with their skin tone and dark almond eyes. Some women do like to experiment with their hair colour so, we have some hair colour tips that would look glorious on Indian skin.

Copper Hair Colour for Indian Skin Tone: This shade of colour looks gorgeous on Indian hair. Copper will give you a much brighter looking mane but, choose a subtle shade of copper for the desired effect.

Chocolate Brown Hair Colour for Indian Skin Tone : Chocolate brown is another colour that suits the Indian skin tone. Wear this shade on your hair to look ravishing. Chocolate brown will also add sparkle to your almond eyes.

Although, a natural black colour will complement your hair you can wear the above colours once in a while, for a brighter mane.

Glamcheck, hereby, recommends you to wear your makeup and hair in true Indian style and burn some hearts right away!
