5 Everyday Makeup Looks for Indian Women

September 28, 2012 by samriddhi

Glamcheck brings you 5 everyday makeup looks for Indian women on the move who want to experiment without looking too made up.

Base Makeup

In order to get started with each of these 5 everyday makeup looks you will need a common base to make your face look flawless and ready for the next steps.

Step 1) Start by cleaning your face with a good face wash and then applying a good moisturizer with SPF.

Step 2) Pick a foundation which is closest to your skin tone and dab it all over your face. Blend it gently into the face and the neck area as well. You can give this step a miss if you are not too fond of foundation. Of course, you can opt for the compact foundations found in solid form. These do not feel “heavy” on the skin, look very natural and give the skin a flawless finish – hiding dark circles, blemishes and even acne/pimples smoothly.

Step 3) For those who feel their pores show through the foundation – you should apply a primer before the foundation. Wait for the primer to settle befl ore applying the foundation.

Step 4) Concealer should be used only if you feel that the foundation has not been able to effectively hide any blemishes.

Step 5) Use a face powder only if your face is extremely oily or sweaty. Otherwise you can give it a skip.

Once the base makeup is done, you can choose from any of the following 5 looks:

Everyday Makeup Look 1: Mascara Beauty

Makeup items needed:

Black kohl pencil or kohl pot, black mascara, pink lip gloss

The focus of this look is on the eyelashes.

  • Apply a thin line of kohl on the upper and lower eye rim.
  • Use 2-3 coats of mascara on the upper eyelashes. Apply from the base of the lashes to give them more lift. Apply one coat on the lower eye lashes too. If you are not too deft at applying the mascara then you should definitely take a look at our tutorial on how to apply mascara.
  • Finish by applying pink gloss on your lips.

Everyday Makeup Look 2: Doe Eyed Beauty

Makeup items needed:

Black liquid or solid eyeliner, black kohl pencil or kohl pot, pink lip gloss

This look lends doe eyed prettiness to the wearer.

  • Apply eyeliner on the upper lid, close to the lash line. Start at the innermost corner of the eye, extending to the outermost corner.
  • Use kohl on the lower eye lid, from the innermost corner. Extend it to the outer corner of the eye, and join with the eyeliner.
  • Apply pale pink blush on the apples of your cheeks.
  • Dab a pink glossy lipper on your lips to finish.

Everyday Makeup Look 3: Brown Eyed Beauty

Makeup items needed:

Brown eyeshadow, black liquid or solid eyeliner, black kohl pencil or kohl pot, black mascara, brownish-pink blush, pink blush, nude lipstick, clear gloss.

This look gives definition and contour to the eye.

  • Apply brown eyeshadow on the crease of your upper eyelid – extending from the innermost to the outermost corner along the crease line. This will give definition and contour to the eyes. Apply the same eyeshadow on the lower eyelid along the lash line.
  • Line your upper eyelid with an eye liner and use kohl on the lower eye lid.  A coat of mascara will open up your eyes more.
  • Use the brownish-pink blush to sculpt the cheeks. Suck your cheeks in and apply the blush on the sucked in area, extending from the middle of the cheek to where the cheek meets the middle of the ear. Apply the pink blush on the apples of your cheek and blend it well so that no demarcation lines between the brownish-pink and pink blusher can be seen.
  • Apply nude lipstick and dab clear gloss evenly over it.

Everyday Makeup Look 4: Blue Eyed Beauty

Makeup items needed:

Grey eyeshadow, blue kohl pencil, black mascara, pink blush, nude pink lipstick.

This look is funky yet can be sported on a daily basis because it is not over the top.

  • Apply grey eyeshadow on the upper eyelid, extending a bit beyond the outer corner.
  • Take the blue kohl pencil and deftly draw a smooth line on the upper eyelid, extending to a winged tip at the outer corner. Fill in the lower eyelid with the same blue kohl pencil, however see that you apply it only where the lashes appear – keep it in the middle and do not fill the inner or the outer corner. (See Photo)
  • Dab pink blush on the apples of you cheek.
  • Use the nude pink lipstick to finish.

Everyday Makeup Look 5: Kohl Eyed Beauty

Makeup items needed:

Black eye shadow, black kohl pencil or kohl pot, brown blush, bronzer, white shimmer powder/white eyeshadow, nude gloss.

If you want to look sultry then this look is for you.

  • Use the black kohl to draw a line on the upper eye lid. Now take some black eyeshadow and apply it above the kohled line – smudging it a bit. Apply a heavy hand of kohl on the lower eyelid.
  • Take the brown blush and using your finger, apply it on both the sides of the nose – extending from the base of the nose to the tip to make it look thinner and contoured.
  • Apply bronzer on your cheeks and dab the white shimmer powder on the eyebrow bone and the middle of the nose – from base to tip.
  • Finish with clear gloss.

So, which of these looks do you want to try today?
