India’s largest wedding festival was held in Ahmedabad, India from September 6th to 8th. On Day 1, Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor turned up at the Vibrant Vivah Wedding Festival 2013 for the inauguration as well as to take a look around.

Her ensemble for the occasion was appropriately festive without spilling over into extravagance.

She wore a red and white anarkali from Ekru by Ekta and Ruchira. It was a very romantic color combination, in part thanks to the delicate spray of red leafy embroidery on the lower half of the skirt. Because there were softer shades of the primary color throughout the outfit, it was not overwhelming or too grandiose.

The accessories were what set the look apart. Her bling was understated – ethnic gold dangle earrings, a gold kada bracelet and gold rings adding touches of festive color and sparkle. Strappy gold heels matched the jewellery while a white and gold potli bag rounded things off.

Makeup & Hair
The older Kapoor sister left her long hair loose from a center parting. During the inauguration, her tresses looked softly red from certain angles, but we’re not sure if that was her actual hair color or just a trick of the light. She stuck to a makeup formula she’s sported often of late – kohled eyes and a shimmery lip gloss standing out against rosy skin.

This festival was a haven of ideas for brides and grooms across the country. The exhibition was quite exclusive with close to 200 stalls featuring everything that a wedding needs including clothes, jewellery, shoes, flowers, spa treatments, makeup, photographers, caterers, honeymoon packages or a wedding planner who will take care of it all. Comprehensive categories covered everything!!
